Car servicing in Whangārei

Oil, filters, brakes and a proper look underneath. Priced before it goes on the hoist.

A service at The Workshop is the oil and filters you expect, plus a proper inspection underneath and a written note of anything coming up. You see the price before the car goes on the hoist, and if we find something else we ring you first. Petrol, diesel, utes and vans.

How a service runs here

  1. Step 1. Ring or book

Tell us the car and what it is doing. Rego helps. So does a photo of the WOF sheet.

  2. Step 2. We look and write it down

We inspect, then you get a quote in writing. Item by item, with what can wait.

  3. Step 3. You say yes

Nothing gets done without it. If we find something else mid job, we ring before we touch it.

  4. Step 4. Done and explained

You pay what you agreed to. We show you what we did and what is coming up.

We want customers to know what the job is expected to cost before we carry out additional work. If anything unexpected is found, we discuss it with the customer and get approval before proceeding.

What do people ask about car servicing?

How much does a car service cost in Whangārei?

Across New Zealand a basic service runs roughly one hundred and fifty to two hundred and fifty dollars and a full service two hundred and eighty to six hundred, depending on the vehicle and the oil it needs. Our from prices are on the board above and we confirm the exact figure before we start.

How often should I service my car?

Most modern cars want a service every ten to fifteen thousand kilometres or once a year, whichever comes first. Diesels and vehicles that tow or do short trips around town often want it sooner. Bring the logbook, or tell us the kilometres, and we will say what it actually needs.

Do you service diesel utes?

Yes. Utes and light commercials are a big part of the work here. Diesel services cost a little more because of the oil volume and filters, which is why the ute price on the board is separate.

Will a service here affect my new car warranty?

No. In New Zealand an independent workshop can service a car under warranty as long as the work meets the manufacturer schedule and is recorded. We use the right grade of oil and stamp or record the service so your warranty stays intact. What can cause a warranty argument is the wrong oil specification or a skipped item on the schedule, so bring the service book or tell us the model and year and we follow the factory schedule for that vehicle.
