  2. Step 2. We look and write it down

    We inspect, then you get a quote in writing. Item by item, with what can wait.

  3. Step 3. You say yes

    Nothing gets done without it. If we find something else mid job, we ring before we touch it.

  4. Step 4. Done and explained

    You pay what you agreed to. We show you what we did and what is coming up.

We want customers to know what the job is expected to cost before we carry out additional work. If anything unexpected is found, we discuss it with the customer and get approval before proceeding.

The thing Trent is known for

ECU tuning is software, not bolt-ons. Done properly on a diesel ute it means more torque where you tow, a smoother throttle and often better economy. Done badly it shortens the life of an engine.

Tuning is Trent's specialty, and the first thing he does is a health check, because a tune on a tired engine is money wasted. He tells you what will and will not change before you pay.

Questions people ask before they ring

Do you do WOF inspections?

No. We repair the things that fail a WOF. Get the inspection done at any testing station in Whangārei, then bring us the sheet and we quote the fixes. Keeping inspection and repair separate is deliberate, because the person fixing your car should not be the person deciding whether it passes. It also means you can use whichever station suits you and still bring the repairs here. When the work is done we initial the sheet against each item, so the recheck is quick.

How do I know what it will cost?

You get a written quote before any work starts, and we ring you if anything changes. The from prices on this page are a guide. Your quote is the number. For anything bigger than a service we look at the car first, because a noise or a warning light can have three different causes at three different prices, and guessing helps nobody. If a part turns out to be dearer or slower to get than expected, you hear about it before we fit it, not on the invoice.
